This session explores how purposeful use of manipulatives supports students’ conceptual understanding of fractions. Participants will examine the progression of fraction concepts and connect concrete and visual models to key ideas such as unit fractions, equivalence, and operations. Teachers will leave with a clearer understanding of why manipulatives matter and when to use them to deepen student reasoning.
